Gradient Nails (HQ-pictures and how-to description!) & golden smokey eyes

I thought I should please you with HQ-pictures instead of all those poor webcam-shots ;) This was my second attempt to smokey eyes, this time I used a light gold shimmer, a bright gold eyeshadow and some brown eyeshadows and 2 different black ones. They are all from Catrice, god I love that brand! Also i used a bronze eye pencil (essence) but you don't really see that in this picture unfortunately. Almost everyhing I used was a present for my birthday, and I am very happy with them all!

As some of you might already know, I like to do something creative with my nails :) And so i did

Those gradient nails (with the nyan cat) are a lot more didfficult than they seem. It's pretty hard to get as much colour as you want, instead of a very translucent effect, but hey, for a first attempt I'm satisfied! :)
If you want to try it yourself, basically all you have to do is follow these steps:
- Base Coat in a nude colour.    let this dry completely before you start

- Pick 3 colors that you want to use (or 2 or 4, but you have to have pretty long nails for 4 colour, which i don't have so not all 4 colours appeared on every nail)

- Get yourself a make up sponge, and wet this in a bowl of water.

- squeeze it for a bit, just so that it's only moist, you don't need a soaking wet sponge

- Apply your desired colours in the order you want to your sponge.

- dab the sponge on your nail ( make sure you cover your entire nail with the nailpolish that's on the sponge!)

- Repeat this 2 or 3 times per nail. Make sure you put on new polish on the sponge if the colours don't intensify anymore when you aplly it to you nails

- Once your satisfied, let your nails dry for about 5-10 minutes.

- apply a glossy topcoat

- your gradient nails are finished!

nailed it!

Just a short post for now :)

as some of you might know, I like to be creative with what I put on my nails.
2 weeks ago I had an audition for a talent show with a friend, and we wrote a song about superheroes, which apparently inspired me enough to make all this :)

Do you recognize them all? sorry again for the (very) poor quality, but I'm simply too lazy to take pictures with my camera and upload them ;) (maybe I should just buy a HD webcam, that'll do the job)

you've got any onther ideas for superheroes that I could put on my nails ?
except for the hulk, which is quite hard to depict in a recognizeable way, I am kinda out of ideas

that's all for now! xx

BAM!
I thought I could either write a whole story about my new stuff, or just post some pictures of it ;)

this shiny paillette skirt is from h&m, just like the black top and the apple ring I'm wearing in the first picture. The cardigan, of which you can barely see what it looks like (grey, with brown padded elbows), is one of the things I bought in France. Unfortunately the paillette skirt is too big for me, so I sent it back and asked for a smaller size, which i really hope they have because I really like it. I'm addicted to this top, it was only 4 euro's, but the fabric is really soft, and, not unimportant, it looks nice too!

this is a really nice dress ( h&m) but unfortunately this picture is really bad, I might upload pictures of better quality later. Originally it was pretty long for me. As I'm not at all tall, i have to make the dress a little shorter, like in the picture. Also I'm wearing the apple ring again :) Actually I just bought it because i thought it was funny, but it also reminds me I should eat more fruit, and it works!

currently, I'm in the middle of my 'exam-week', but to make myself a little happier, i stopped by a shop, and there I bought dry-shampoo from andrélon and a beautiful black sparkly eyeshadow from Catrice (to create smokey eyes with).
well, I tried the dry shampoo, but I absolutely hate it, to be honest. It doesn't do what it promises to. It says 'gives you a suprising amount of volume, and absorbs the grease from your hair. well, 'suprising' the amount of volume surely was. I have never had so flat and heavy hair in my life.
to make things worse, my hair feels really dirty and looks as if i hadn't washed it for days. So you could say I don't really recommend it, and it's even very expensive too!

I also tried the Catrice eyeshadow. It has very much pigment, so you can create really black smokey eyes with it. It has tiny silver and blue sparkles in it, which gives a very nice effect if you're going out to a club (or a concert), or any other party with lights.
bear with me please, haha. I haven't tried smokey eyes before, and such things need some practice ;) anyway, here's a (poor quality, sorry!) picture of my attempt to subtle smokey eyes.
besides the black, i also used a light blue and a pastelle yellow colour, to add some colour to the 'smokey' black colour. i was to lazy to use that much mascara, but I also made pictures with the  camera, and that's of much better quality, i'll (probably) upload them soon!

this is the Catrice eyeshadow I bought, it's no.140 - The Captain Of The Black Pearl

so that's all for now, I think I should get back ( read: start) to learning for my upcoming tests..
